-build up/mystique - audience wants to know
-intro character/theme or story/mood (or all of these)
-eye catching + intriguing imagery > can show off production values and build up hype
-institutional detail (distributor/production company/named jobs...)
-good soundtrack relating well to movie - can be ambient or music depending on mood
-dont inroduce too many features (story, characters)
-actual title can be minimalist or logo-like
